Authorship Criteria

Authorship in the Journal of Integrated Social Sciences and Wellbeing (JISSAW) is reserved for individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the study. To ensure accountability and ethical integrity, all listed authors must meet all four of the following criteria:

1. Authorship Requirements

  • Substantial Contribution: Active involvement in the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work.
  • Intellectual Drafting: Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content (not just language editing).
  • Final Approval: Giving final approval of the version to be published.
  • Accountability: Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Note: Activities such as funding acquisition, general supervision of a research group, or administrative support do not qualify for authorship. Contributors who do not meet all four criteria should be listed in the Acknowledgments section.

2. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

JISSAW upholds strict transparency regarding the use of Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT, LLMs).

  • No AI Authorship: AI tools cannot be listed as authors. They lack the legal standing to take responsibility for the work.
  • Disclosure: Authors must disclose the use of any AI tools in the Cover Letter/Comments for Editor box and Methods section, detailing specifically how the tool was used (e.g., "for data processing" or "grammatical refinement").
  • Human Verification: Human authors are fully responsible for the accuracy of any AI-generated content.
  • Content Limit: To preserve human intellectual value, AI-generated content must not exceed 19% of the total manuscript. Submissions exceeding this limit upon screening will be returned.
