Repository and Self-Archiving Policy
The Journal of Integrated Social Sciences and Wellbeing (JISSAW) fully supports "Green Open Access" and encourages authors to archive their research to maximize its impact. This policy outlines the rights authors retain regarding the different versions of their work.
1. Licensing and Permissions
All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
- Share: Authors and readers may copy, redistribute, and adapt the work for any purpose (including commercial), provided the original source is cited.
- Copyright: Authors retain full copyright of their work and are not required to transfer it to the journal.
2. Archiving Rights by Version
Authors are permitted to deposit the following versions of their manuscript in institutional or subject-specific repositories (e.g., OSF, SSRN, or other Digital Archives):
A. Submitted Version (Preprint)
- Definition: The initial draft submitted to the journal, before peer review.
- Policy: Authors may post this version on preprint servers (e.g., SocArXiv) or personal websites at any time.
- Requirement: Once the article is published in JISSAW, authors should update the preprint record with a link to the final published DOI.
B. Accepted Manuscript (Postprint / AAM)
- Definition: The version accepted for publication after peer review, but before final typesetting and formatting by the journal.
- Policy: Authors may deposit this version immediately upon acceptance.
- Requirement: It must include a statement: "Accepted for publication in the Journal of Integrated Social Sciences and Wellbeing."
C. Version of Record (Published Article)
- Definition: The final, typeset PDF published on the journal website.
- Policy: Authors may deposit this version immediately upon publication. There is no embargo period.
- Requirement: The deposit must cite the original publication and include the permanent DOI link (e.g., https://doi.org/10.XXXX/jissaw.2025.123).
3. Repository Guidelines
- Preferred Repositories: We encourage depositing data and manuscripts in non-profit, open repositories such as the Open Science Framework (OSF), Figshare, or your university's institutional repository.
- Data Linking: If the research dataset is hosted separately, the repository record for the article should link to the data to facilitate reproducibility.
